Christ said to His disciples: "Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him to have a millstone hung around his neck and be thrown into the sea." Whoever causes such sin, that is, whoever leads the young and fragile souls astray – this is the left path, which diverts man from the eternal path. This applies to self-proclaimed teachers, leaders, etc. The idea of causing sin: "If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off; if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off; if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out."

The hand symbolizes the will; if a person's will is directed down the wrong path, one must not follow it, for it will lead to hell. A person must renounce such a will – "Cut it off!"

The foot symbolizes human virtues. If the virtue in a person is hypocritical, one must cast it out, must cut it off. Those with false virtues will again end up in hell, on the left path, which does not lead to eternal life but to death.

The eye symbolizes Truth. If a person does not have a true understanding of life, it is better to abandon this illusory knowledge, that is, to pluck it out. It is in Truth that all questions find resolution, and those without true understanding are without an Eye. A true Eye means a true understanding of things.

Example: Despair is full of light, but only those with the Eye can draw it out and see it. Example: The crucifixion was not a despairing moment for Christ. The Teacher says: "It was not Christ who was crucified on the cross; it was the Black Brotherhood." The powerful crucifixion was a powerful penetration and capture of the black force. The Black Brotherhood could not foresee this capture; they were sealed on the cross. From that moment on, evil has been continuously losing its power.

Jesus took His disciples to the mountain. In an esoteric sense, the high mountain symbolizes the higher, Divine world. It represents an ascent into higher cosmic consciousness. In this case, Christ ascends into His superconsciousness and awakens the superconsciousness of His three disciples, and they see Him in His Divine nature. To witness Him in His Divine essence, they entered into Samadhi, that is, into the highest state of consciousness. This means that they entered into their Divine, primordial nature, and after this experience (as known from occult science), one can become a bearer of the new teaching, of the new impulse.

Samadhi is a direct entry into the Kingdom of God. Through this experience, Christ establishes the Kingdom of God within His disciples. The Master says, "Samadhi is not the final word in occult evolution, but only the first stage"—a special moment in the life of the disciple. A moment when the Spirit completely penetrates the human body and transforms it—this is the Transfiguration.

Buddha also reached this stage—Samadhi, but this was the highest stage he attained. The Master and Christ offer much higher stages.
