Omraam: Our true Self is beyond thoughts, feelings and actions: it is pure Light

The spiritual teacher Omraam (Mikhail Ivanov, a disciple of the universal Master Beinsa Douno) gives this special formula:
TARO TORA ROTA TAROTA ROTARO It is part of five exercises for attaining purity:

► First exercise: Imagine that you have risen very high, thousands of kilometres above the earth, and that there you are able to draw in prana, which is Pure Life. Let it pass through you like a heavenly rain, penetrating and filling every cell of your body. Continue the exercise until you feel lighter, breathe more freely and see more clearly.
► Second exercise: In the morning, contemplate the Sun. Let your thoughts reach all the way to its centre so that you may be purified in its Light.
► Third exercise: Spend some time naked in the fresh air, imagining the air passing through you and carrying away all your impurities.
► Fourth exercise: Do the same with water, in a bath, the sea or a river. Choose a place, however, where thousands of other people have not already gathered.
► Fifth exercise: An exercise with the Earth. Go into a forest, for example, and lie face down. Dig a very small hole and place your fingers in it. Then address the Earth: “O Earth, my Mother, you who have given me all the elements that make up my body, I thank you! But I have one request: take all the impurities that have accumulated within me and carry them down to your building sites, workshops and laboratories. In return, give me the purest building materials so that I may fulfil my work in the world.”

Speak to the Earth in this way and then say the formula: TARO TORA ROTA TAROTA ROTARO. These are Kabbalistic words with a very powerful effect. Say the formula and remain in meditation for a few minutes. At that moment the Earth, the intelligence of the Earth, hears you and instructs its workers to come and relieve you of every harmful and dark particle. You feel lighter and free.

►Omraam on purity and a pure life

Purity is one of the most essential and profound subjects. What a rich and profound world Purity is! It can be expressed in every human activity: in the way we eat, in our actions, feelings and thoughts. Yet the source of Purity lies in the highest spirituality. We can attain Purity only by opening the doors of our Soul to spiritual life and allowing the rays of the Sun, God's Love and His Wisdom to enter us. Purity is the foundation of every other attainment.

Purity always finds expression in simplicity. Yes, what is pure is simple: it contains no admixture, no element foreign to or at odds with the proper functioning and harmony of the whole.

Peace and Purity are the conditions needed to enter into communion with Heaven. The most effective and safest method is to cultivate selflessness and Purity. Only Purity enables us to develop our intuition. A person's entire destiny depends on the purity of their inner eye. Only someone who has attained true Purity and selflessness can claim to be a messenger of Heaven. In truth, there is no path for us other than purification. On the spiritual path, no external means can have a lasting effect unless a person lives a pure and wise life filled with meaning.

Purity brings health to the physical body. To the heart it brings happiness and joy; to the will, ease and freedom of action; and to the mind, Light that enables it to see and understand. Only Purity gives us inner confidence and courage. Impurity is the enemy of Life. Impurity disturbs Peace. Purity is not where people look for it. True Purity lies in the Divine Life: when you live that Divine Life, no one can defile you. Even if they drag you through the mud or blacken your name, they still cannot defile you.

Purity is not found in outward forms or in quotations. It lies in the intensity of thought and feeling, that is, in the intensity of spiritual life. Only Purity clears and opens the way. Many people wash and bathe several times a day, yet inwardly they are not chaste and pure. Look at the cat: you will not find a more fastidious animal, yet it is not pure within, for it thinks only of mice and swallows them whole, skin, entrails and all. Indeed, many people resemble the cat! A person is not soiled from without, but from within. Impurity comes from inside: from the heart, desires and thoughts.

►Omraam on the spiritual path and inner purification

The first task of a spiritually awakened person is to purify, illuminate and ennoble their heart and mind through the mighty powers of the Soul and Spirit. Those who have chosen the spiritual path can, in peace and harmony, reach the realms of intuition. They then become like the surface of a lake of crystal-clear water, reflecting the whole of Heaven.

To regain our Purity and Light, we must return to the Centre. You will find true Purity on the heights, at the very Source. Everything God has created can, with the help of thought, serve to ennoble, purify and strengthen you. Whoever meditates on a mystical Truth climbs a high mountain inwardly, for that Truth connects them with Heaven, while the Water that flows within them cleanses them and gives them life.

It is written in the Emerald Tablets: “You shall separate the subtle from the gross,” the pure from the impure. A person separates the pure from the impure just as gold or precious stones are extracted from ore. Therefore, whether it is a question of the physical, etheric, astral or mental body, one must be discerning and selective, admitting nothing stale, dusty, mouldy or fermented into oneself. Discernment is a whole science. Thoughts and feelings are not made of the same substances; there is a gradation among them. The higher you rise in search of these substances, the purer they become. This is true even on the physical plane: what is pure is light and rises; what is impure is heavy and settles to the bottom like sediment and mud. The purer the building particles, the more enduring they are. So build your body from the purest particles and you will withstand every suffering and even death, because the substance at your disposal will be of such a quality that neither suffering nor death will have power over it. Illness and death have power only if they manage to impose their influence on something. Even the Devil can take hold of someone only if he finds weaknesses and vices in them, that is, impure matter. The Gospels say that demons possessed certain people. Why? Because in those people they found impure food suited to them.

Purity and impurity are the result of the quantity and quality of the nourishment received and assimilated on every plane

When someone has difficulty seeing clearly in the realm of ideas, it is because impure elements have accumulated within them and clouded their vision.
In the past, people used kerosene lamps for light, and every day the woman of the house had to wipe the soot from the glass. The spark is within each of us, but it cannot shine because the glass has not been cleaned. The clean glass is chaste Purity, and the light that passes through it is Holiness. When the Soul expresses itself through the heart, a person is chaste and pure; when the Spirit expresses itself through the mind, a person is holy.

Suspicion, slander, hesitation and doubt are forms of impurity. The proof is that they introduce poison into you. Therefore, anyone who wishes to purify themselves must put an end to all these things once and for all and replace them with trust, Love and, above all, selflessness.

A being who does not do the Will of God can be neither Pure nor Holy. If you are not wholly devoted to the Lord, you can be sure that others will “occupy” you, and you will end up serving all manner of strange, selfish and anarchic wills.

The initiates sought to do the Will of God because it is a magical act. By wishing with all their strength to do the Lord's Will, they unite with Him. It is precisely through this union that they become chaste, Pure and Holy. I do not advise you to give in to your mediumistic tendencies until you have done the work of purification and inner elevation that will help you withstand the attacks of dark forces.

It is dangerous to seek entry into the spiritual world before you have purified yourself

These “sorcerer's apprentices,” who have acquired clairvoyant powers by force without first cultivating Purity, virtue and self-mastery, risk provoking the invisible Beings into declaring war on them, and then meeting a disastrous end. Anyone who has not worked on purification and self-mastery risks seeing the Fire of Kundalini erupt within them and lay them waste. By contrast, someone who begins with Purity and self-mastery also works, though indirectly, on the chakras, which awaken and begin to function without danger.

You must develop the habit of working on the matter of your physical body, purifying it and making it more sensitive and receptive. Your soul will then be able to register the realities of the Divine world with increasing ease. The Guardian of the Threshold can do nothing to those who are Pure and fearless.
If at times you feel unwell or fall ill, take it as a sign: Heaven is inviting you to do something very important, to work on yourself and your purification, which you would not otherwise have done of your own accord. Accept these troubles with appreciation and gratitude. It is better for even the slightest impurity that has entered you to show itself at once, so that you can put things right quickly, or at least take measures. Otherwise, if impurities continue to accumulate without your even realising it, freeing yourself from them later will be very difficult. Whatever sins or crimes have been committed, the human soul can be purified through the Divine Soul to which it is connected.

Our true Self is beyond thoughts, feelings and actions: it is pure Light.

… The two triangles in Solomon's Seal: Spirit (the downward-pointing triangle) descends to become incarnate in matter, while matter (the upward-pointing triangle) must become ever finer and purer, so that it no longer resists the vibrations of the Spirit working upon it to restore it to its Original Purity, its Original Light.
The alchemists called these two processes solve and coagula, that is, dissolution and coagulation. Those who reach the realms of Divine Light and Love receive streams of extraordinarily pure and powerful particles that penetrate to the depths of their being and nourish every cell of their body. Yet receiving this Light requires long preparation, for it is a current of tremendous power. If the way has not been cleared, if the current encounters impurity, it consumes everything in its path.
